PRODUCT MANAGEMENT &
GO-TO-MARKET STRATEGY
I work at the intersection of
product and go-to-market strategy

HELLO
I'm Eric.
I’m a principal product manager and go-to-market strategist; in short, I ensure products meet customer needs and customers meet needed products. I have over 20 years of experience operating at this strategic intersection, leading the innovation, development, delivery, and launch of valuable B2B tools, products, services, and solutions.
I am an astute qualitative and quantitative analyst with a strong foundation in data visualization, business intelligence, and insight generation. I am an ingenious storyteller with a knack for simplifying complex concepts into relatable narratives that highlight the value and benefits of enterprise products. Additionally, I am a veteran of collaboration within matrix environments and geographically dispersed organizations, with a track record of successful solution launches, team leadership, and peer mentoring.

STRATEGIC VISIONARY
I map the path forward.
I excel at crafting product strategies that align with market demands and business objectives. My approach emphasizes user-centric design and data-driven decision-making, enabling cross-functional teams to develop innovative services and systems that deliver exceptional user experiences and significant customer growth.
I am adept at balancing immediate problem-solving and foundation building to address user pain points while establishing robust systems that support scalability and future innovation. This ensures that products not only meet current demands but are also positioned for sustained evolution and competitive advantage.
Finally, I facilitate communication with stakeholders, ranging from engineers to executives, to ensure alignment and collective progress toward the organization’s vision. And my agile leadership abilities guide and develop high-performing teams, fostering an environment that promotes creativity and collaboration.

This is my "I'm listening" face.
Please don't find it off-putting; it's the only one I've got.

A few of my Funko Pop! muses in the background: Leonardo, Albert, and Jim.
DISCERNING ANALYST
I transform data into insight.
I define insight as a resonating change in understanding, and within product management, insights are often the basis for competitive advantage. They can reveal new opportunities for value creation, spur roadmap changes, or prioritize feature development.
I derive insights through customer research, market assessments, and data analysis. I also employ systems thinking to assess the entirety of a product’s user experience and buyer journey. I am highly proficient in analytics and visualization, with a strong foundation in SQL, event-driven architectures, and database integration (because getting access to the right systems of record is often the first step).
INGENIOUS STORYTELLER
I create compelling narratives.
Our brains are not ideally set up to consume logic; they prefer digesting stories. Thus, insights are more readily accepted when wrapped in a narrative.
However, if you want the insight to be remarkable and the story to be compelling, both need to be framed by a narrative—a lens through which to perceive the world, industry, or problem. Narrative is the connective tissue for your stories; the unifying thread that weaves through your product’s vision, roadmap, development plan, and GTM content.
For over two decades, I’ve been synthesizing insights and ideas into succinct, relatable stories, models, and frameworks to convey the value of enterprise products. I excel at crafting value propositions, product positioning, and launch materials that connect products to big-picture industry topics.
I also enjoy telling really bad dad jokes.

Are you subliminally persuaded by the bookcase background?

Note the glasses and serious gaze.
It's an overt attempt to look "smart and trustworthy."
CURIOUS INTELLECTUAL
I learn new stuff really fast.
Intellectual curiosity is my superpower; I thrive on interdisciplinary and cross-contextual thinking and the challenge of connecting seemingly unrelated ideas, disciplines, and technologies to foster innovative solutions. It is a valuable asset in product strategy, which is inherently progressive and thus requires the eagerness to challenge existing beliefs or assumptions, a sense of wonder, and a drive to explore unfamiliar ideas and divergent perspectives.
A willingness to readily admit my ignorance and embrace it as a catalyst for growth and innovation enables me to gain a deeper understanding of customer needs, pain points, and emerging trends, yielding a better product narrative and roadmap.
I believe the gap between strategy and execution is best filled via collaboration
TACTICAL POLYMATH
I'm cross functional.
A strategy that cannot be implemented or executed is futile. Likewise, a strategy that is feasible but lacks buy-in across an organization is nearly as meaningless. I am a diplomatic negotiator of competing priorities, differing KPIs, and misaligned OKRs, possessing substantial experience collaborating across functions within a matrix environment and a geographically dispersed organization.
Advancing a product typically requires commitment and support from various functional areas. Sometimes, this is achieved by working from the bottom up to gain consensus, while other times it involves securing sponsorship from the top to gain credibility. However, most often, it necessitates doing both.

I can't play the guitar or piano very well, so don't expect
any musical entertainment from me at company picnics.

FIELD VETERAN
I've worked remote for 15+ years.
When I first started working out of my basement full-time, I assumed it would be a hindrance or barrier to consistent, high-quality work. However, I eventually came to realize it was the opposite—working from home was an advantage I had over my corporate office-based peers. Over the years, I maximized that benefit by building out a top-notch workspace, custom configured to my preferred workflow.
I work best with organizations that embrace geographically dispersed teams to access the best available talent and recognize how productive, collaborative, and efficient a remote employee—such as myself—can be.

Yep. I'm putting the wife and kids on display in a blatant appeal to your emotions.
DEDICATED FAMILY GUY
I’ve got great support.
