PORTFOLIO
Grainger.com / KeepStock Web Reporting
SITUATION
Customers of Grainger’s KeepStock inventory management offering had limited self-serve access to reporting and analytics, and instead relied largely on requests to Grainger employees who would email information.
When leadership decided to close this gap and prioritize development, I was tasked with authoring the vision and GTM strategy for the new reporting offer.
WORK COMPLETED
Delivered a comprehensive strategic vision that included:
Customer Needs
Pain points, desired outcomes, analytical needs for MRO inventory and required reporting views
User Types
Profiles detailing variations in goals, frustrations, attributes and behavior
Value Proposition
The promise of the solution represented as three complimentary components
Required Development
Anticipated time, resources and scope of work required to achieve v1.x go live
GTM
Recommended deployment tactics and KPI measurement
OUTCOME
Strategic planning was completed in under 60 days in collaboration with stakeholders from Product Management and Systems Architecture.
A dedicated agile team was assigned shortly thereafter to begin technical development.
I remained aligned to the development team for the following 18 months as a SME and customer advocate.
As a capstone to the planning process I created an executive summary to support conversations with executive leadership and facilitate dissemination within their organizations. Some of the visuals are pictured below.
